Welcome to the first blog post for 422 Spacemall Self Storage! Yes, that’s a mouthful, so if you want to just call us Spacemall, we’ll be happy to answer to the nickname. In fact, that’s usually how we answer the phone.
Spacemall is a family-owned business just west of Audubon and Norristown, at the Oaks exit off 422. For more than two decades, and closing in on three, Spacemall has been meeting Montgomery County residents’ storage needs. You may even have seen the signs and heard our ads “Closets too small? Call the mall!”
We offer climate controlled storage in the building that formerly housed Dettra Flag Company on Montgomery Avenue in Oaks. Reclaiming the old flag factory for use as indoor storage is part of the company’s commitment to promoting development while remembering our roots. Around the corner on Brower Avenue, we have outdoor storage and outdoor parking for RVs, boats, and other vehicles. With quick access to 422, our location is convenient and accessible.
In our continuing effort to meet customer needs and requests, last year we added a large freight elevator, improved air conditioning and an electronic entry system to the climate controlled building. This year, we’ll be adding additional drive-up storage at the Brower Avenue location.
Last year, we also added a new face for Spacemall.
If you’ve seen our ads along 422, you may have noticed our alien. With a name like Spacemall, it was just a matter of time before we were discovered by aliens. Our little green guy hasn’t told us his name just yet, but he’s often seen on 422, letting you know that if you’re out of space, we’re your place.
We’ll be working on finding the little guy’s name sometime this summer. We may even enlist your help to find the perfect name.
In the meantime, welcome to our new blog! Anything important that happens at Spacemall will show up here as well as tips for storing your stuff, making the most of your free time and anything else that strikes our fancy. We’re glad you stopped by to see us!
