Like many Pennsylvania communities, Phoenixville loves its First Fridays.
Officially, the party along Bridge Street starts at 6 p.m. and wraps up at 10 p.m., but many of the pubs and eateries along Bridge keep the party going even longer.
So what can you expect at First Friday?
Music
Splintered Sunlight, a rock staple in the Philly area for the last 30 years is playing this weekend. Sometimes called a Grateful Dead cover band, Splintered Sunlight plays a variety of rock classics from Dancing in the Streets to After Midnight and a lot of Dead covers.
You can check them out here.
Other venues around town are likely to have music as well, so check out the entertainment schedule at Phoenixville First Fridays.
Amazing Food
Whether it’s pretzels from the Philadelphia Pretzel Factory or a vegan cuisine at Taste, Phoenixville has a lot of delicious food options. I’m personally partial to the fish and chips at P.J. Ryan’s and dessert at Steel City, but there’s everything from Thai and sushi to Iron Hill Brewery burgers along Bridge Street. You can most likely find something for anyone’s palate.
Beer…and Wine
You’ll find five different breweries in Phoenixville, four of them either on Bridge Street or a very close by. Whether you prefer the Imperial Stout or IPA at Stable 12 or a Belgian White at Root Down Brewing, Phoenixville is a beer lovers paradise. Personally, I’m thinking I need to try their chocolate milk stout. And wine lovers need not feel left out. Sandcastle Winery has it’s best available at Taste, Root Down offers wines from Stone & Key Cellars and Black Walnut Winery has a tasting room and wine bar, all right on Bridge.
Bumper to Bumper Traffic and No Parking
The only downside to First Fridays is trying to actually get there. Traffic on Bridge Street will be bumper-to-bumper and the city parking lots will likely be overflowing. Consider catching a ride, especially if you want to enjoy all our fine beer and wine!
